Butcher Shop Server (Casual)

Austral Meat is looking for a friendly, reliable and customer-focused team member to join our butcher shop team.

About the Role

This role is based in our butcher shop, serving customers with their retail orders. Our retail shop operates alongside our manufacturing facility in Gepps Cross, giving customers access to fresh, high-quality products directly from the source.

Duties will include customer service, stock rotation, product presentation, maintaining food safety standards and ensuring the shop is clean, organised and well presented.

Previous experience in customer service, food handling or a retail environment will be highly regarded. Availability across a seven-day roster is required. Typical hours will be 20-25 hours per week, however additional hours may be available during peak trading periods. We are happy to accommodate university study commitments for the right candidate.

Operating Hours & Availability

Shifts are rostered Monday to Sunday across the following trading hours:

·         Monday to Friday: 7:00 am – 7:00 pm

·         Saturday: 6:30 am – 5:30 pm

·         Sunday: 8:30 am – 5:30 pm

We are looking for someone who can work flexibly across these trading hours, including weekends, public holidays and peak trading periods.

The environment is fast-paced and physically demanding. This role requires repetitive tasks, manual handling and heavy lifting.

Successful candidates must be willing to complete a pre-employment medical assessment, including drug and alcohol screening.

A satisfactory National Police Clearance will also be required as part of the recruitment process.
