Tamara Private Hospital is an acute Hospital offering medical, surgical and rehabilitation. It has been a leading provider of healthcare for this community for over 40 years. With 45 beds, Tamara Private Hospital offers a comprehensive range of services including Bariatric, Dental, General Surgery, Gynaecology, Ophthalmology, Orthopaedic, Urology, Vascular, ENT, Robotic Surgery, Paediatric ENT and Dental, Day Surgery and Medical services.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and energetic individual with a strong customer focus to fill the role of a Theatre Assistant on a casual basis.

About the Role

As a Theatre Assistant, you will be working in the theatre department with responsibilities including:

• Working with and assisting clinical staff.
• Setting up consumables and other specialty stock to ensure theatres are set up for surgical procedures and equipment has been checked.
• Maintaining high standards of infection control through environmental cleaning of the operating theatre and equipment.
• Assisting with the safe positioning of patients for surgical procedures under the direction of clinical staff.

About You

An interest in patient care is essential to succeed in this role. You will have excellent communication skills and a willingness to develop a working knowledge of hospital procedures. You will be a motivated, positive individual and demonstrate a high level of attention to detail.

You will also bring:

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work effective within a team environment and independently
• Excellent patient and customer service focus
• Be available for a range of shifts across a 7-day rotating roster
• Certificate III or Certificate IV Level in relatable field or AIN Certificate (Desirable)
• Prior experience in a similar role or CSSD (Desirable)
