Northern Health are seeking applications from motivated and experienced Speech Pathologists to join our dynamic team on a casual basis. Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist,communityand home-based services in Melbourne’s rapidly growing outer north.
Services are provided through our six main campuses:
Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn and Mernda Community Hospitals and Kilmore District Hospital.In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park, Mernda and Coburg.
About the Role:
We are offering casual Grade 2 Speech Pathology roles for clinicians with a special interest in adult acute caseloads to support our weekend service. There may also be opportunities for weekday casual shifts to support service demand and suit your availability.
These opportunities are ideal for clinicians looking to broaden their clinical experience within a supportive and collaborative multidisciplinary environment, while contributing meaningfully to patient outcomes.
In this role, you will:
Work independently with a diverse adult inpatient caseload across acute hospital wardsAssess and manage patients presenting with communication and swallowing disordersCollaborate closely within a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient-centred careProvide culturally responsive care within a diverse and multicultural health serviceDemonstrate strong clinical reasoning, flexibility, and effective time management in a busy clinical environmentExperience what it is like to work at Northern Health and be among the first to hear about future permanent opportunities
To be successful in this role you will have:
Experience and good working knowledge of the assessment and management ofadultpatients presenting with disorders of communication and swallowing in an acute settingStrong interpersonal communication skillsStrong self-reflection skills and positive attitude to learningDemonstrated flexibility in caseload management, in particular, an ability to manage a busy and varied caseloadAbility to work autonomously
