Registered Architect | Residential & Commercial Projects

About the role

We are looking for an architect with strong technical knowledge, good design judgement and excellent attention to detail. The role will focus on architectural design development, technical detailing, building compliance, and the review and preparation of high-quality architectural documentation. You will work collaboratively with our internal design and drafting team, providing architectural and technical input throughout the design and documentation process. At ECM Developments, we believe great architecture is created through teamwork. You will work alongside experienced designers, project managers, drafters and consultants in a collaborative environment where everyone contributes their expertise. Project management, client liaison, builder coordination and authority liaison are primarily managed by other members of the ECM team, allowing you to focus on architecture, technical quality and documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop architectural designs from concept through to detailed documentation.

• Prepare and review architectural drawings for DA, CDC, CC and construction stages.

• Review drawings prepared by the drafting team and provide architectural and technical input.

• Develop high-quality architectural and construction details.

• Review designs and documentation for compliance with the National Construction Code (NCC) and relevant Australian Standards.

• Identify and resolve architectural, technical and compliance issues.

• Assist with the preparation and review of plans, elevations, sections, schedules and construction details.

• Ensure architectural documentation is accurate, coordinated and consistent.

• Work collaboratively with designers, drafters and other members of the project team.

• Contribute to maintaining and improving ECM's architectural and documentation standards.

About you

• Minimum 3 years of relevant architectural experience in Australia.

• Registered Architect in NSW, or eligible for NSW registration.

• Strong knowledge of the National Construction Code (NCC).

• Good working knowledge of relevant Australian Standards.

• Strong architectural and construction detailing skills.

• Good understanding of Australian residential construction methods and practices.

• Experience with DA, CDC and construction documentation.

• Strong Revit skills.

• Ability to review architectural drawings and identify technical or compliance issues.

• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
