About the Role

Teaming up with a supportive Relationship Manager, you’ll help manage and grow a portfolio of business banking customers across either Small to Medium Enterprises or Diversified & Specialised Industries. Depending on the role, you may support customers across a broad range of industries, or work more closely with customers in a specialised sector such as Agribusiness, Health, Property or Emerging Corporate.

You’ll build trusted relationships with customers, help drive growth through acquisition, increasing share of wallet and referrals, and use insights and data to better understand and anticipate customer needs. This role leads to many career pathways within Business and Private Bank and across the rest of ANZ. Whichever pathway is right for you, there are inspiring leaders and tailored learning opportunities to give you the skills and accreditation you need to go after it.

What will your day look like?

Working with your Relationship Manager, you’ll manage a portfolio of customers by:

• Proactively developing and maintaining a detailed understanding of each customer’s business and financial needs
• Acting in the best interests of the customer and
• Providing appropriate solutions to support account maintenance and customer needs
• Maintaining a well-managed portfolio that is compliant with all relevant policies and procedures
• Maintaining control of workflows across compliance and customer fulfilment processes
• Collaborating with product partners and other stakeholders to fulfil customer needs
• Supporting growth through customer acquisition, referrals and identifying opportunities to increase share of wallet
• Building industry and customer insights, including specialist industry knowledge where relevant to the role

What will you bring?

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

• Prior experience in commercial banking frontline roles and commercial lending
• Ability to help manage strong customer relationships by handling service queries and resolving minor issues
• Strong communication skills to assist customers effectively
• Attention to detail when reviewing agreements and contracts
• Ability to assess a customer’s ability to fulfil their credit obligations, considering both qualitative and quantitative factors, including the 5Cs of credit
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and keep track of customer documentation, banking transactions and internal communications
• Familiarity with risk management concepts, particularly in credit risk, operational risk and market risk
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements such as KYC and AML
• An interest in developing deeper customer, industry or segment knowledge, including specialist industry expertise where required
