Boronia Veterinary Clinic and Hospital is a bustling 25 vet practice in the Eastern suburbs of Melbourne. We work really hard to ensure the owners of our patients are as well looked after as their pets.

As an owner operated, single site practice, we have strongly held values regarding rational and appropriate advice, uninfluenced by the interests of corporate ownership groups.

About the role

The clinic provides overnight care to in-patients after the clinic is closed. The scope of this care is limited to general practice. We are not an intensive care facility.

Role responsibilities include patient care and ward maintenance (cleaning and laundry). This is part time, 20-30 hrs/week.The successful candidate must be able to;

• Work sole charge or within a team and work overnight

• Work flexible shifts (specific shift details are available after successful application)

• Manage task lists through task prioritisation

• Handle peak workloads (in this context, high inpatient numbers)

• Assist and support our team of veterinarians and nurses

Skills and experience

The candidate must be able to work under pressure, follow direction and work in a team.

• Prior nursing experience required

• Veterinary nursing experience specifically required

• Minimum of 2+ years nursing experience required

• Excellent communication skills a must

Ideal but not essential skills include;

Experience in assisting in surgery (anaesthesia and sterile supply).
