Employment Type: Full Time Ongoing (24/7 roster including weekends and nights)
Pay Grade Range: $110,479 - $126,224 (RPN3, AHP4 or P3) plus Super and Salary Packaging.

Forensicare is Victoria’s specialist provider of forensic mental health services, supporting people living with serious mental illness who are connected to, or at risk of contact with, the justice system. Services span community, prison and hospital settings, with a strong focus on recovery, safety and human rights.
As part of our Hospital Expansion, we are seeking 7 experienced mental health clinicians to join Thomas Embling Hospital, Fairfield VIC as Clinical Support Team Leaders.
This is a rare opportunity to step into a specialist leadership role where you will help shape safe, therapeutic and recovery-oriented environments across Victoria’s forensic mental health system.
About the Role
Reporting to the Clinical Supports Manager, you will provide leadership to Clinical Support Workers and work closely with multidisciplinary teams to maintain a safe, therapeutic and recovery-oriented environment.
The role is instrumental in reducing restrictive practices through proactive risk management, therapeutic engagement, de-escalation and incident response.
Operating across a 24/7 roster, including weekends and nights, you will provide specialist support across the hospital and contribute to positive outcomes for consumers, staff and the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
Lead and support Clinical Support Workers to maintain a safe and therapeutic environment.
Provide leadership during critical incidents and support least restrictive practice.
Partner with multidisciplinary teams to assess and manage complex risks.
Facilitate therapeutic engagement and de-escalation strategies with consumers.
Support the prevention and management of occupational violence and aggression.
Conduct environmental safety checks and ensure security systems are operational.
Contribute to clinical documentation, incident reporting and emergency preparedness activities.
Promote recovery-oriented, trauma-informed and person-centred care.
Support staff capability development and role model professional practice.
About You
To be successful, you will bring one of the following:
Postgraduate Diploma in Mental Health Nursing or equivalent.
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy.
Master’s or Doctorate qualification in a relevant APAC-accredited psychology program.
Bachelor’s degree in Social Work and eligibility for registration with AASW.
You will also bring:
Current AHPRA registration, where applicable.
Demonstrated experience leading teams and managing critical incidents.
Strong understanding of trauma-informed care and recovery-oriented practice.
Experience conducting assessments, care planning and clinical decision-making.
Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Knowledge of relevant legislation, professional standards and ethical practice.
A commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement.
