Operations Support – Fleet & Yard

We are seeking a hands-on, mechanically minded Operations Support – Fleet & Yard team member to assist with the day-to-day running of our fleet, equipment, and yard operations.

This is a dynamic hybrid support role combining fleet assistance, maintenance support, yard operations, logistics, and general operational duties - with a strong amount of driving required for deliveries, equipment movements, and operational support tasks.

The successful candidate will play an important support role in ensuring our fleet, trailers, plant, and equipment are maintained, compliant, operational, and presented to a high standard.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, is happy to roll up their sleeves, and is comfortable working across yard-based, operational, and driving tasks.

• Assist with the day-to-day coordination of the company’s fleet, plant, trailers, and equipment

• Support scheduling of servicing, repairs, inspections, and preventative maintenance

• Assist with routine inspections and reporting of defects or maintenance requirements

• Perform basic maintenance, troubleshooting, and minor repairs where required

• Liaise with mechanics, suppliers, and contractors as directed

• Assist in maintaining fleet compliance records, service schedules, and asset documentation

• Update and maintain asset records, service history, inspections, and operational information in systems such as HirePOS

• Assist with breakdown response coordination and help minimise equipment downtime

• Assist with equipment preparation, cleaning, inspections, and mobilisation activities

• Ensure all equipment is clean, safe, compliant, and hire-ready

• Support workshop and yard operations as required

• Assist with stock control, consumables, stocktakes, and yard housekeeping

• Carry out a strong amount of driving required for deliveries, equipment movements, and operational support tasks

• Assist with loading and unloading of equipment and materials

• Provide general operational and administrative support as required

• Previous experience in a yard, workshop, labouring, plant hire, logistics, or similar hands-on role (preferred but not essential)

• Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn

• Comfortable working around heavy vehicles, trailers, plant, and equipment

• Confident and safe driver capable of completing regular driving tasks (essential)

• Good organisational skills and attention to detail

• Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team

• Able to work independently when required

• Physically fit and capable of manual handling tasks

• Current driver’s licence essential (HR licence highly regarded)

• Forklift or other tickets advantageous but not essential

• Reliable, practical, and safety focused

• Hands-on attitude with a willingness to assist wherever needed

• Comfortable working in a fast-paced yard and operations environment

• Strong work ethic and positive, can-do attitude

• Willingness to learn and develop skills in fleet and equipment operations

• A team player who supports the wider business where required
