The Opportunity

Due to an internal movement, we are looking for a Branch Manager to lead and manage waste collection, resource recovery, and environmental services for our municipal council contract. You’ll oversee service delivery, compliance, financial performance, and stakeholder relationships, ensuring operations are safe, efficient, and aligned with sustainability goals.

An exciting aspect of this role is leading the implementation of a newly awarded Food Organics contract, involving the mobilization of additional collection vehicles and new team members. You will play a critical role in planning, executing, and delivering this high-profile project on time while ensuring a seamless transition into ongoing operations.

Key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

• Oversee the municipal waste management contract, ensuring all KPIs and service levels are achieved.
• Manage the mobilization of additional fleet resources and workforce requirements to support contract growth.
• Act as the primary point of contact for council stakeholders, fostering strong relationships and proactive communication.
• Work closely with depot supervisors and drivers to maintain efficient day-to-day operations.
• Ensure all waste collection and disposal services comply with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
• Manage contract budgets, monitor costs, and identify opportunities to improve operational performance and efficiencies.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance service delivery, sustainability outcomes, and customer satisfaction.

About You

• Experience in contract management within waste, transport, logistics, environmental services, or a similar operational environment.
• Strong leadership and operational management skills, with the ability to coordinate teams and resources effectively.
• Proven ability to build and manage stakeholder relationships, particularly within local government environments.
• Knowledge of waste management regulations, compliance obligations, and environmental policies is desirable.
• Strong commercial and financial acumen with experience managing budgets and contract performance.
