Senior Operations Supervisor

We’re looking for a proactive Senior Operations Supervisor to lead our Mareeba depot team Monday to Friday. You’ll oversee daily transport and dock operations, ensuring freight is handled safely, efficiently and compliantly.

This hands-on leadership role involves managing drivers and operational staff while maintaining high standards of safety and performance in a fast-paced transport environment.

What You’ll Do:

• Lead and supervise drivers, forklift operators and dock staff.

• Oversee safe and efficient loading, unloading and freight movements.

• Conduct driver, forklift and other competency assessments.

• Manage performance, behaviour and operational issues effectively.

• Ensure compliance with Chain of Responsibility, WHS and company procedures.

• Lead and support daily operations to meet service and delivery requirements.

• Coach and support team members and identify training needs.

• Lead by example and remain hands-on in the operation.

What You Bring:

• Industry knowledge - Transport or relevant industry experience will be highly regarded for this role.

• Warehousing Knowledge & Experience – Strong understanding of fast-moving transport site operations, including transhipping requirements for efficient workflow.

• Proven Leadership Experience – Ability to lead, mentor, and support a diverse team in a fast-paced environment

• Decision-Making & Problem-Solving – Confidence to make quick, effective decisions under pressure

• Team Development & Support – Strong ability to motivate, train, and manage performance

• Communication & Collaboration - Work closely with drivers, allocators, key stakeholders & customers to ensure seamless operations

• Industry Knowledge Essential – preferred knowledge of refrigerated transport industry

• BFM Accreditation or Willingness to Obtain – Understanding of NHVR regulations and safety compliance is an advantage
