We're looking for a motivated and talented graduate or registered architect who wants to learn, practice all parts of architecture, is well-organised and wants to enhance life through good design.

MacCormick and Associates Architects is a well-established and awarded, small design-focused architecture studio based in Bondi Junction / Queens Park.

Our Projects

Our projects are a mix of high-end single homes, boutique mixed-use developments, small-scale multi-residential developments, and hospitality projects. Our projects are detailed, site-focused, client-engaged, and design-led through to construction. Our design seeks to bring joy into the Every-day.

Our work is generally Sydney-based; in the Lower North Shore, Northern Beaches, and Eastern Suburbs. Our projects also extend to the North Coast and rural NSW.

Our general engagement starts with design and goes through to contract administration, We provide integrated design for architecture and interior design services.

The Studio Space and work environment

You will work in a relaxed, light-filled, fresh, open space to part of an old warehouse that was once a window joiner's workshop.

You will be part of a small, collaborative, friendly, and supportive team.

The office is a 10-minute walk from Bondi Junction. A one-minute walk at lunch will take you to Queens Park or Bronte Road shops. We enjoy summer lunchtime swims at Bondi, a 5-minute car drive.

We offer flexible hours and working-from-home on most Mondays once you are up to speed on your projects.

Your role

You'll be working directly with the Principals on a range of residential projects, with genuine responsibility and influence over the design and delivery. This is a diverse role — you'll be involved from concept design through to construction documentation and site involvement. You need to be flexible as you will be taking on existing projects at various stages in the architectural process. Tasks will include:

Designing and drafting

Consultant coordination and liaison

Preparing Development Applications, Tender and Construction Documentation

Liaising with Clients with direction as needed

Construction site visits and contract administration

About you

The right candidate shall have:

A creative approach and strong abilities with design development. In the first instance, we will be reviewing your portfolio, so please make sure you send a portfolio to the email below.

A proactive approach to all things and a desire to learn

A minimum 5 years post-graduate experience

ArchiCAD experience (minimum 2 years) is essential as you are stepping into some projects part-way.

Well-developed organisational and time management skills.

A keen eye for detail and a love of architecture

Enthusiasm to solve technical issues and to work collaboratively

Australian citizenship or a current work visa and be in Sydney now.

Excellent written and spoken English

A degree in architecture or interior architecture.

Remuneration

The salary package offered will be commensurate with our understanding of your skills and experience. We provide bonuses for meeting time and financial targets.
