About the role
Quality First Constructions is seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager / Multi-Site Supervisor to manage multiple residential and commercial projects across the Sunshine Coast and surrounding areas.
Based in Coolum Beach, we deliver custom homes, townhouse developments, major renovations and commercial fit-outs, including offices, hospitality and medical projects.
This is a senior, hands-on role that goes beyond day-to-day site supervision. You will take ownership of each project’s program, performance, subcontractor coordination, quality, client communication and overall delivery.
You will also coordinate our small in-house site team. This includes allocating the team across projects, planning their work and ensuring their time is used productively.
You will be well supported by our Director, Production Estimator, Estimator and administration team, who assist with procurement, purchase orders, variations, project costing, documentation and general project administration. You will work closely with the wider team while remaining responsible for planning, coordinating and driving your projects on site.
You will independently manage multiple projects at different stages of construction. Your responsibilities will include:
Preparing, maintaining and actively managing construction programs
Forward-planning subcontractors, labour, materials, deliveries and inspections
Coordinating subcontractors, suppliers and our in-house site team
Allocating leading hands, carpenters, apprentices and labourers across projects
Planning and monitoring the productivity of in-house labour
Ensuring sites are ready and trades have the correct information before commencing work
Monitoring labour, variations, project costs and overall budget performance
Working closely with the Production Estimator to manage procurement, purchase orders and cost reporting
Identifying potential delays, cost overruns and construction issues early
Reviewing plans, engineering, specifications and contract documentation
Ensuring projects are completed in accordance with approved documentation
Maintaining high standards of workmanship, safety and site presentation
Conducting site meetings and communicating professionally with clients
Coordinating statutory inspections and approvals
Managing practical completion, handover, defects and maintenance items
Providing clear and timely updates to the Director and office team
Accurate and consistent project reporting is a mandatory requirement of this position.
The successful applicant will be required to:
Record time and site attendance daily through TSheets
Maintain accurate and up-to-date project records in Wunderbuild
Regularly update construction programs and project progress
Review and monitor the allocation of in-house labour across projects
Record site issues, client discussions, delays, variations and required actions
Provide early warning of any program, budget or construction concerns
Communicate upcoming requirements to the office team with sufficient notice
You must be comfortable using technology and understand that accurate project reporting is an essential part of successfully managing the role.
To be successful in this position, you will need:
At least three years’ experience in a construction supervisory or project management role
Demonstrated experience independently managing multiple concurrent projects
Experience coordinating and leading employees as well as subcontractors
Strong residential construction knowledge
Commercial fit-out experience will be highly regarded
Strong construction programming and forward-planning skills
A good understanding of project budgets, labour productivity and cost control
The ability to read and interpret plans, engineering and specifications
Strong leadership and subcontractor coordination skills
Professional client communication and problem-solving abilities
Good computer skills and confidence using construction software
High attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship
A proactive, organised and accountable approach
A current Queensland driver licence
A trade background, preferably carpentry
A QBCC Site Supervisor licence, or eligibility to obtain one promptly
We are looking for someone who takes ownership, plans ahead and follows through. You must be capable of independently driving your projects while working closely and communicating effectively with the wider QFC team.
A senior position with genuine responsibility and autonomy
Strong support from our Director, Production Estimator, Estimator and administration team
A capable in-house site team
Established systems for estimating, procurement, purchase orders, variations and project administration
A varied pipeline of quality residential and commercial projects
Competitive remuneration based on experience
Superannuation, vehicle and fuel card
Company laptop, phone and tablet
Ongoing training and professional development
A long-term opportunity within a growing Sunshine Coast construction company
