Details: The Health and Community Services Directorate (HCSD) is seeking a highly organised and strategic Cabinet Liaison Officer (CLO) to join the Ministerial and Government Services team within the Governance Branch.
Reporting to the Director, Cabinet and Assembly Business, this role serves as the central point of contact between the directorate, the Cabinet Office and other ACT Government directorates on all Cabinet-related matters. Working closely with business areas across the organisation, the CLO provides expert guidance throughout the Cabinet submission process, ensuring high-quality advice, coordination and timely outcomes.
The successful applicant will coordinate Cabinet business across the directorate, including forecasting upcoming matters, managing submission workflows and facilitating consultation across government. They will provide strategic advice on Cabinet processes, submission content, recommendations and options to support informed decision-making. The role also supports compliance with the Cabinet Handbook, monitors the implementation of Cabinet decisions and is responsible for managing access to and secure storage of Cabinet documents.
This is a dynamic and fast-paced position that requires the ability to manage multiple priorities, engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders and negotiate outcomes within tight timeframes. The role involves handling sensitive and confidential information and currently includes direct supervision of staff .
To succeed in this role, you will demonstrate exceptional communication, stakeholder engagement and organisational skills, along with a strong understanding of government processes or the ability to quickly develop this expertise. You will be a proactive problem solver who thrives in a collaborative environment and can deliver results under pressure.
