Retail Store Manager with Passion

About the role

Paper Republic, a leading Australian retail brand for stationery, cards and gifts is seeking a dedicated Retail Manager to lead and manage our Melbourne CBD store. A full-time, 5 days per week role, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of store operations, driving sales and profitability, and ensuring an exceptional customer experience. What you'll be doing

1. Overall responsibility for the day-to-day operations of our beautiful and very busy Royal Arcade store including staffing, inventory management, supplier liaison and sales and revenue reporting

2. Lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing retail team, providing coaching, training, and performance management

3. Develop and implement effective stock control, visual merchandising, and promotional strategies to drive sales and customer engagement

4. Continuously monitor and analyze store performance, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing data-driven strategies

5. Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and health and safety regulations

6. Maintain a positive, customer-centric culture and provide exceptional customer service

7. Collaborate with key suppliers to optimize budgeted buying patterns and introduce exciting new product to support the overall success of the store.

What we're looking for

1. Minimum 2+ years experience in a dynamic store management/supervisor role, preferably within the retail and consumer products industry

2. Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team

3. Excellent customer service orientation and communication skills

4. Proficient in data analysis and financial management, with the ability to drive sales and profitability

5. Hands-on experience in inventory management systems, merchandising, and visual merchandising

6. Sound knowledge of retail operations, including point-of-sale systems, cash handling, and loss prevention

7. Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making abilities

8. Passion for the retail industry and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer experiences
