Job Description

Position Overview:

Key Responsibilities:

• Clinical Care & Assessment: Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments, monitor health changes, manage complex chronic conditions, and respond effectively to acute medical situations.
  

• Medication Management: Safely and accurately administer, record, and audit medications in strict accordance with healthcare regulations and facility policies.
  

• Care Planning: Develop, implement, and regularly review individualized care plans in collaboration with residents, families, and allied health professionals.
  

• Leadership & Supervision: Provide clinical leadership and guidance to Enrolled Nurses (ENs) and Assistants in Nursing (AINs), ensuring a high standard of daily care.
  

• Documentation & Compliance: Maintain meticulous, accurate, and timely electronic health records, ensuring absolute compliance with aged care quality standards and legal requirements.
  

• Wound & Palliative Care: Deliver specialized clinical interventions, including advanced wound management, infection control, and empathetic palliative/end-of-life care.
  

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor of Nursing degree from an accredited tertiary institution.
  

• Licensure & Registration: Current, unrestricted registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) via APHRA.
  

• Experience: Prior experience working within an aged care facility or a similar clinical environment (rehabilitation, community nursing, or acute geriatric care) is highly desirable.
  

• Certifications: Valid National Police Check (or NDIS Worker Screening Check) and current First Aid/CPR certifications. Fully vaccinated in line with healthcare industry mandates.
  

• Core Competencies: Excellent clinical decision-making and problem-solving skills. Strong interpersonal and communication abilities, with the empathy required to build trust with elderly residents and their families.
