Light Plant / Mower Mechanic

We are currently seeking an experienced Light Plant / Mower Mechanic to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled mechanic looking for a hands-on role working with a variety of small plant, machinery and equipment.

About the Role

As a Light Plant / Mower Mechanic, you will be responsible for the servicing, maintenance, repairs and preparation of a range of light plant and mowing equipment. You will play an important role in ensuring machinery is safe, reliable and ready for use.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose, service and repair light plant and mowing equipment
• Carry out scheduled preventative maintenance
• Perform mechanical repairs and fault finding
• Service small engines, mowers and associated equipment
• Inspect equipment and identify mechanical issues
• Prepare machinery for hire and ensure it is safe and operational
• Maintain accurate service and repair records
• Keep the workshop and work areas clean, organised and safe
• Assist with general mechanical duties as required

About You

We are looking for someone who has:

• Previous experience as a small engine, mower, plant or mechanical technician
• Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills
• Experience working with petrol and diesel engines
• A practical, hands-on approach to problem solving
• Good attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship
• The ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• A strong focus on workplace health and safety
• A current driver's licence

A relevant mechanical trade qualification will be highly regarded, however candidates with strong practical experience are encouraged to apply.
