TTSPH is the authorised Toyota distributor across seven South Pacific nations: Papua New Guinea, Fiji, Vanuatu, Solomon Islands, Samoa, American Samoa, and Tonga. What you’ll be doing

We are seeking a motivated Tax Accountant to join our Group Finance team and support the taxation, compliance, and governance requirements of our South Pacific operations.

Reporting to the Tax & Treasury Manager, you will play a key role in delivering accurate and timely tax compliance, accounting, and statutory reporting outcomes. The position offers exposure to a broad range of areas, including corporate income tax, GST, FBT, tax effect accounting, transfer pricing, and international tax matters.

Working closely with finance teams, external advisors, auditors, and regulatory authorities, you will contribute to managing tax risk, supporting audits and business initiatives, and ensuring adherence to evolving legislative and regulatory requirements. You'll also have the opportunity to contribute to process improvements and support regional and global tax initiatives.

Key aspects of the role

• Prepare accurate and timely tax compliance and reporting obligations, including Income Tax, BAS/GST, FBT, tax effect accounting and supporting workpapers.
• Prepare quarterly and annual tax provisions, deferred tax calculations and tax reconciliations in accordance with IAS 12.
• Support the Group's tax governance framework, including tax risk management, internal controls, compliance reviews and audit activities.
• Assist with the provision of tax advice relating to business initiatives, financing arrangements, cross-border transactions and strategic projects.
• Support transfer pricing compliance, including data analysis, documentation preparation and intercompany transaction reviews.
• Prepare and review indirect tax, withholding tax and other taxation obligations across multiple jurisdictions.
• Coordinate tax audits, information requests and statutory reporting requirements with external auditors and tax advisors.
• Review and improve tax processes, systems and documentation to enhance efficiency and compliance.
• Support Country-by-Country Reporting (CbCR), transfer pricing documentation and other global tax reporting requirements.
• Build strong relationships with finance teams across the South Pacific to ensure consistent application of tax policies and timely compliance outcomes.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the Group Tax & Treasury function.

· What you'll bring to the team

• 2-5 years' experience in Australian taxation gained within public practice, business services, tax advisory, or industry.
• Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related discipline.
• CPA or CA qualified, or currently studying towards completion with at least 2-3 modules successfully completed.
• Strong knowledge of Australian corporate taxation, including Income Tax, GST, FBT and tax effect accounting.
• Experience preparing tax returns, tax provisions, deferred tax calculations and taxation reconciliations.
• Exposure to multinational organisations, transfer pricing, cross-border taxation or international business structures will be highly regarded.
• Industry experience within a corporate environment will be viewed favourably but is not essential.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with excellent attention to detail.
• Advanced Excel skills and the ability to analyse financial information and large datasets.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to work across multiple business units and jurisdictions.
• A collaborative mindset, strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
• Experience with ERP or financial reporting systems such as Hyperion, ERA or similar platforms will be advantageous.
