About Colourful Minds: Colourful Minds is a NDIS registered company for Positive Behaviour Support, Early Intervention and Therapeutic Supports. We welcome both private and NDIS clients for Play-based Therapy. At Colourful Minds, we’re passionate about supporting neurodiverse children in the age of 2-16 years old and their families to thrive focusing on behavioural challenges. Our team takes a collaborative, child-led and strengths-based approach to play-based therapy, providing personalised support in homes, daycares, and clinic settings. Based in Belmore (2192 NSW), we support clients throughout the Sutherland Shire, Canterbury-Bankstown, Inner West, Lower North Shore, and Sydney CBD. Our clinic is open during weekdays.
The Role:We’re seeking a warm, energetic, motivated Play-based therapist to join our team. You'll work with neurodiverse children, including those with autism, ADHD, sensory processing differences, communication delays and developmental delays to impact behavioural changes.
Key Responsibilities:Conduct assessments and develop tailored therapy plansDeliver play-based, evidence-informed interventions Use creative therapeutic mediums such as music, LEGO, play, art, and sportsCollaborate with families, educators, and other professionalsProvide parent coaching and guidance to teachers and carersApply a social model of disability to advocate for children’s needsMaintain accurate documentation, session notes, risks assessment, incident reports and NDIS reportsParticipate in team meetings, clinical supervision, and ongoing training

About You: You’re a dynamic and empathetic professional who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of children and young people. You value creativity, collaboration, and inclusive practice. You thrive working independently while also being part of a collaborative team. Essential Criteria:· Minimum bachelor's degree in psychology, social work or developmental education.Current professional membership with your professional body; AASW/DEAI/AHPRAExperience working with neurodivergent young children and familiesExperience working with children who are non-speakingUnderstanding of developmental and behavioural conditionsExcellent communication and interpersonal skills (relationship-building skills)Ability to work independently and within a teamCurrent Working With Children Check, NDIS Worker Screening Check, First Aide with CPR and Police Check (or willingness to obtain)Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicleA valid visa granting working rightsMinimum of 3 full weekdays available
Desirable:Experience with NDIS participantsTraining in evidence-based behavioural interventions (e.g., CBT, DIR/Floortime, Zones of Regulation)
