About the role
School of Special Educational Needs: Disability (SSEN:D)
SSEN:D is one of eight Specialist Schools within Statewide Services. At SSEN:D we partner with schools to provide collaborative support and resources that promote learning environments where every student's potential is realised. Support is provided statewide through a Request for Assistance model that matches the needs of schools to the skill set of Consulting Teachers.
SSEN:D is a school that strives for excellence and is committed to building the capability of teachers and school-based staff within a culture of support to ensure every student with disability is a successful student. We provide consultancy services to educators, contextualised and evidence-informed professional learning, online research, information, resources and practical support in our service delivery model.
We encourage our staff to share knowledge and exhibit self-reflective practices with a focus on quality teaching. Self-improvement is supported amongst our staff through a range of Professional Learning Communities.
We have teams based at Statewide Services Centre (Padbury), at our south hub (South Lake Primary School), and in regional centres across the State. The successful applicant will be predominantly based at our Padbury hub, with possible visits to support staff at our South hub or regionally, when required.

The Role
The position is responsible for the coordination, administration and support of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) systems and assistive technology services to enhance student access, participation and educational outcomes. The role provides specialist advice and technical support to schools and staff on the selection, implementation and management of assistive technology solutions, ensuring systems, software and devices are maintained in accordance with Department policies, security requirements and compliance standards.
The position manages assistive technology assets, software licences and subscriptions, and oversees procurement, budgeting and contract administration activities to support the effective delivery of services and responsible use of resources. This includes contributing to budget planning, forecasting and reporting, maintaining accurate records, and monitoring software licensing arrangements to ensure compliance and inform strategic decision-making.
Working collaboratively with schools, Department ICT, service providers, suppliers and other stakeholders, the position coordinates the deployment and lifecycle management of assistive technology equipment, resolves technical issues and barriers to access, and supports the evaluation and implementation of emerging technologies. The role provides training, technical assistance and administrative support aligned with service priorities, ensuring responsive customer service and effective operational outcomes.
The position establishes and maintains productive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, facilitates the exchange of information, manages enquiries and communication channels, and contributes to the continuous improvement of assistive technology services, systems and processes across the organisation.
