About the role

Xtreme Caulking is seeking an experienced Glazier to join our team on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will undertake glazing installation, replacement and associated sealing works across commercial, residential and industrial projects. The role involves measuring, preparing, fitting and installing glass and glazing systems, together with the application of appropriate sealants and glazing compounds to achieve secure, durable and weather-resistant installations. The position is primarily based in Melbourne; however, the successful candidate must be willing to travel to regional Victoria and other regional areas as required for project work.

Key responsibilities

• Determine glass requirements and measure, mark, cut and shape glass to required dimensions and specifications, inspecting materials for defects or damage.

• Prepare frames and openings and install glass in windows, doors, shopfronts, skylights and other structures using appropriate glazing systems, adhesives, gaskets and fasteners.

• Fit and install prefabricated glass units and double-glazed panels, ensuring correct positioning, alignment and secure installation.

• Remove and replace broken, damaged or defective glass and associated glazing components as required.

• Apply glazing compounds, silicone, polyurethane and other sealants to glass installations, window and door frames and associated joints to achieve durable and watertight finishes.

• Perform wet and dry glazing and other appropriate glazing installation methods in accordance with project requirements.

• Read and interpret plans, drawings and work instructions to determine measurements, materials and installation requirements.

• Safely handle and transport glass, operate glazing tools and equipment, and inspect completed work to ensure installation and finish meet required standards.

• Carry out glazing works at heights where required and comply with workplace safety requirements, site procedures and project specifications.

About you

• Certificate III in Glass and Glazing or an equivalent relevant qualification is desirable.

• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience as a Glazier, including glazing installation, glass replacement and associated works.

• Sound knowledge of glazing methods, materials, tools and safe glass-handling procedures.

• Ability to read and interpret plans, drawings and work instructions.

• Current White Card

• Valid driver's licence.

• EWP licence desirable.

• IRATA certification desirable, or willingness to obtain it.

• Ability and willingness to travel to regional locations for project work when required.

• Ability to safely lift, carry and manoeuvre glass and glazing materials.

• Comfortable working from ladders, scaffolding, elevated work platforms and other approved access systems.
