Community Support Worker

Support Worker – Aged Care | Murray Bridge SA | Immediate Start

Allegiance Heart & Home Care is seeking a reliable and compassionate Support Worker to assist an older male client living at home in Murray Bridge.

This role is suitable for a caring support worker who is confident with personal care, mobility support, domestic assistance and working with clients who have complex health and mobility needs.

Location: Murray Bridge SA Start Date: Immediate start Employment Type: Casual Hours:

• Monday to Friday: 1.5 hours per day
• Saturday and Sunday: 1 hour per day

About the Client

The client requires regular support at home due to reduced mobility, wheelchair use, increased care needs and assistance with daily living tasks. The client lives at home and requires respectful, patient and reliable support to help maintain safety, dignity and wellbeing.

Key Duties

Duties may include:

• Assistance with personal care, including showering, drying and dressing
• Support with toileting and continence care
• Safe mobility and transfer assistance
• Medication prompting, where required
• Light domestic assistance
• Meal preparation or meal support
• Monitoring and reporting any changes in health, skin condition, mobility, mood or wellbeing
• Completing accurate progress notes after each shift
• Encouraging independence, comfort and dignity at all times

Requirements

Applicants must have:

• Certificate III in Individual Support, Aged Care, Disability or equivalent experience
• Experience supporting older people in the community
• Confidence with personal care and mobility support
• Current First Aid and CPR certificate
• Current National Police Check
• Current driver’s licence and reliable transport
• Good communication skills
• Ability to complete shift notes accurately
• Reliability and availability for ongoing short shifts

Preferred Experience

Experience with any of the following would be highly regarded:

• Wheelchair support
• Falls risk clients
• Continence care
• Pressure injury prevention
• Medication prompting
• Supporting clients with cognitive decline or memory concerns

You will be kind, patient, reliable and professional. You understand the importance of providing care that respects the client’s privacy, dignity, culture and personal preferences. You must be able to attend shifts consistently and communicate promptly with the care team.
