About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer – Wind to support the development and delivery of large-scale onshore wind projects across Australia.

 The role will provide engineering leadership across the project lifecycle, coordinating civil, electrical and structural inputs and working closely with designers, contractors, wind turbine manufacturers and network service providers to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to the required standards.

Key responsibilities:

• Provide engineering leadership and coordination across wind farm projects from development through to construction and commissioning.

• Coordinate civil, electrical and structural engineering inputs across Balance of Plant (BOP) works, including access roads, hardstands, turbine foundations, substations and electrical infrastructure.

• Review engineering designs, technical documentation, scopes and specifications to ensure they meet project and technical requirements.

• Manage technical interfaces between WTG OEMs, EPC/BOP contractors, consultants and network service providers.

• Provide engineering input into project planning, procurement, cost estimates and delivery strategies.

• Support grid connection activities, including coordination of technical requirements with network service providers.

• Provide technical input into wind turbine layouts, site suitability, energy yield and key project design considerations.

• Identify and resolve engineering issues, risks and project interfaces throughout the project lifecycle.

• Provide technical support during construction, including site inspections, quality reviews, testing and commissioning.

Skills and experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, ideally Civil, Electrical, Mechanical or Renewable Energy Engineering.

• 7+ years’ engineering experience, with experience across renewable energy or large-scale infrastructure projects.

• Previous experience delivering utility-scale onshore wind projects is highly desirable.

• Strong understanding of wind farm development and Balance of Plant works, including civil, electrical and structural infrastructure.

• Experience coordinating consultants, contractors, OEMs and project stakeholders.

• Experience reviewing engineering designs, scopes and technical documentation.

• Strong project coordination, communication and stakeholder management skills.
