cape group (cape) is a not-for-profit company limited by guarantee providing services to people with a disability and is a Registered NDIS Provider.

Nadrasca joined with Brite in April 2025 to form cape group, a newly formed brand resulting from the merger of the two NDIS registered providers with a combined 120 years in operation across the eastern and northern suburbs.

Together, we provide a range of services for people with disability, including home and living supports, social and community participation activities, youth employment assistance, supported employment, and NDIS support coordination.

The Position

The Senior Support Worker supports the Community Options Coordinators in delivering high‑quality, person‑centered disability day programs. The role provides leadership, oversees program planning, ensures clinical oversight of support practices, and acts in the Team Leader role when required.

Key Responsibilities

1.Quality,Safety & Person‑Centered Support

• Ensure program delivery uses Active Support and Positive Behavior Support.
• Support implementation of My Pathway My Plan.
• Maintain accurate health, behavior and support records.
• Monitor participant wellbeing and escalate clinical concerns.

2.Program Planning

• Support development of weekly, monthly, and term‑based program schedules.
• Ensure programs align with participant goals and NDIS plans.
• Develop activity resources, session plans and risk assessments.
• Support evaluation of program outcomes.

3.Clinical Oversight

• Support implementation of Behavior Support Plans and communication strategies.
• Ensure staff follow clinical protocols, mealtime plans and health‑related supports.
• Monitor data collection and ensure trends are escalated.
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings.

4.Operations

• Assist Community Options Coordinators with daily operations, resource allocation and documentation.
• Support community access planning, transport and safety.
• Maintain compliance with NDIS Practice Standards. 

5.Staff Support & Leadership

• Mentor support workers and provide in‑the‑moment coaching.
• Assist with onboarding new staff.
• Support rostering and daily team coordination.

Qualifications and Experience

• Certificate IV in Disability or equivalent.
• Minimum three years’ experience working in disability services, education, training, community development, or relevant area of expertise.
• Demonstrated experience working in disability day programs and group facilitation.
• Strong understanding of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS), communication plans, and clinical supports.
• Relevant leadership and management experience in the disability or community services sector.
• Current Level 2 First Aid Certificate.
• Current full Victorian Driver Licence.
• Advanced computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite, internet applications, and client information management systems (e.g., CMS).

• Ability to demonstrate empathy and respect for people supported by the organisation and their networks.
• Well-developed problem-solving, conflict-resolution, and creative decision-making skills.
• Strong observation skills to ensure individuals’ social, emotional, and physical wellbeing.
• Capability to educate, empower, and support individuals to make informed choices and decisions.
• Ability to adapt to change and work effectively in evolving circumstances.
