What you’ll be doing
We are seeking a specialist obstetrician and gynaecologist who is passionate about delivering evidence-based, woman-centred care across the continuum of maternity and gynaecological services. The successful candidate will contribute to the care of public obstetric and gynaecology patients while working collaboratively with medical, midwifery, allied health and administrative colleagues to ensure safe, high-quality outcomes for women and their families.
As a Mater Specialist, you will be actively involved in teaching and mentoring junior medical staff, participating in multidisciplinary education and simulation programs, and contributing to service development through clinical audit, quality improvement, research and innovation activities. You will join a culture that values teamwork, continuous learning, respect and excellence in patient care. Additionally, you will have your own dedicated gynaecology clinic and operating lists.
About you
This role is suited to an Obstetrician looking to expand their clinical exposure and contribute to the public service, further building relationships across the Mothers’ hospitals. Contributing to public on-call will allow you to experience high-volume, high-risk obstetrics.
The successful applicant will be expected to hold a Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FRANZCOG) and current specialist registration with the Australian Health Practitioner regulation Agency (AHPRA).
