Senior Procurement Officer, Budget Finance & Investment

About the role: 

The Senior Procurement Officer is responsible for providing support and oversight for the operational delivery of compliant, value-focused procurement activities (both general and ICT), and supporting competitive funding projects. This role ensures departmental procurements are delivered within broader legislative and policy frameworks, including the Department of Health and Victorian Government Purchasing Board procurement frameworks, whilst supporting staff to achieve strong value for money procurement outcomes for the department and the State.

About you:

• Experienced in end-to-end procurement activities, including the provision of expert advice about procurement sourcing approaches and processes, approval frameworks, policies and control gates to internal clients and stakeholders.
• Experienced in providing strategic, tactical and governance support to departmental buyers to support procurement outcomes.
• Someone who is detailed focused, and adaptable.
• A collaborative team member able to build and maintain internal and external stakeholder collaboration.
• A tertiary qualification in fields relevant to procurement, policy, and/or business systems, or equivalent is highly desirable but not essential. Experience in public sector procurement would be highly regarded.
