Product Development Technologist (12-month contract)

We are seeking a full-time Product Development Technologist to join our R&D Team based in Moorabbin (12-month contract).  Reporting to the Product Development Manager, you will interact with key stakeholders and cross-functional teams to execute NPD and in-house productivity activities in accordance with customer or business requirements.

The Role

• Drive customer engagement to shape, refine, and deliver New Product Development (NPD) project briefs aligned to business and customer requirements.

• Through Stage Gate process, lead end-to-end NPD projects, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and designed for successful scale-up to full manufacturing.

• Lead end-to-end product development activities to execute in-house productivity projects.

• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders through project forums, providing technical input into costings, product specifications, artwork approvals, trials, and commercialization documentation.

• Partner closely with Engineering and Operations to plan and execute production trials through to full commercial manufacture.

• Lead and/or support factory troubleshooting activities to ensure product quality, process stability, and efficient issue resolution.

Your Skills

• Minimum of 5 years’ relevant R&D experience within FMCG manufacturing environments.

• Strong technical and hands-on manufacturing expertise across Seasonings, Marinades, Coating Systems and Wet Condiments.

• Demonstrated passion for problem-solving, with the ability to think creatively, adapt to changing priorities, and deliver practical, innovative technical solutions.

• Proven ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams, building strong and meaningful relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications; SAP experience highly regarded.

• Comprehensive knowledge of FSANZ regulations and their application within product development and manufacturing environments.
