Are you looking to further develop and use your case management skills while making a meaningful difference in the lives of children, young people and families?

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Family Liaison Officer to support adolescents aged 10-14 and their families who are disengaged, or at risk of disengaging, from school. This role provides an excellent opportunity for a current team member to expand their experience working alongside schools, families and community services to improve engagement, wellbeing and long-term outcomes.

As a Family Liaison Officer, you will work closely with students enrolled at Nambour State College and their families, providing practical support, case management, advocacy and family-focused interventions.

This role is ideal for someone looking to use and build their skills in family intervention, stakeholder engagement, case coordination and community-based support while working within a collaborative, outcomes-focused program.

In this role, you will:

• Manage the client journey using a client-centred and strengths-based approach.
• Receive referrals, conduct assessments and coordinate case management plans.
• Support at-risk children, young people and families through advocacy, information and practical assistance.
• Deliver individual and group-based life skills and personal development programs.
• Provide parenting support, wellbeing interventions and practical in-home assistance.
• Facilitate connections to education, health, community and support services.
• Build strong partnerships with schools, government and non-government agencies.
• Support families to access services and opportunities that improve outcomes and engagement.
• Maintain professional records, case notes and reports in line with organisational and funding requirements.
• Participate in community networks and represent the organisation in relevant forums and meetings.

Essential Qualifications & Experience

• A relevant Diploma qualification in Human Services, Mental Health, Community Services, Counselling, Family Therapy, Family and Youth Intervention, or a related field.
• At least three years' experience working with children, young people and families experiencing complex needs.
• Experience supporting clients facing complex challenges using evidence-based and family-centred approaches.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation, child safety requirements and risk assessment practices.
• Understanding of contemporary practice frameworks, including the Strengthening Families, Protecting Children framework and Safe & Together principles.
