• Salary relative to experience, and ranges from $97,256 to $108,166 p.a. + super

About the role

The Conservation Programs, Heritage and Regulation Group is seeking an Assistant Project Officer to support the delivery of biodiversity conservation programs across NSW.

Working within a collaborative team, you will provide high-quality administrative, project coordination and analytical support to assist with the planning, implementation and reporting of conservation initiatives. You'll contribute to program governance, prepare reports and briefing materials, coordinate meetings and documentation, and help monitor program performance.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to meaningful conservation outcomes while developing your project management and stakeholder engagement skills in a collaborative and supportive team.

About You

As an Assistant Project Officer, you will be adept at providing administrative and coordination support and have demonstrated ability to deliver program outcomes and project support activities in line with agreed standards and objectives, given tight deadlines and competing demands and priorities.

You will bring:

• Experience providing project, administrative or program coordination support.
• Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including preparing reports, correspondence and other documentation.
• Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to research information and support evidence-based decision making.
• The ability to work collaboratively and build productive working relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
• A proactive approach, strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering quality outcomes.

Essential requirements

• A degree in science or in a relevant natural resource discipline and/or demonstrated equivalent, relevant professional experience.
