Homes & Granny Flats is growing rapidly, and we've reached the point where we need someone to bring our projects, people and day-to-day operations together.

We're looking for an experienced Operations Manager who understands construction, enjoys working at pace and is comfortable getting involved across the business.

This is not a traditional Operations Manager role where you'll simply oversee established departments.

You'll have your hands on project management, estimating, scheduling, customer management, construction coordination, safety and systems, working closely with the leadership team to keep the business moving.

If you're organised, commercially minded and the type of person who sees a problem and sorts it out, this could be a great opportunity.

What You'll Be Responsible For

Project Management & Construction

• Oversee multiple residential construction projects from planning through to completion.

• Coordinate construction schedules, materials, trades, subcontractors and resources.

• Work closely with the construction team to keep projects on track.

• Identify issues early and take ownership of getting them resolved.

• Monitor project progress, quality, costs and timelines.

Estimating & Pre-Construction

• Prepare and review project estimates and costs.

• Work with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain pricing.

• Review plans, specifications and scope to ensure projects are accurately costed.

• Identify potential cost, timing and construction issues before projects commence.

• Support the business in improving estimating processes and project margins.

Client Management

• Take ownership of communication with clients throughout their build.

• Provide clear, proactive updates and manage expectations.

• Resolve issues quickly and professionally.

• Work with the construction team to ensure customer commitments are delivered.

• Build strong relationships that reflect positively on the Homes & Granny Flats brand.

Operations & Scheduling

• Coordinate the day-to-day operation across projects, factory, trades and suppliers.

• Support scheduling to ensure labour, materials and trades are available when required.

• Monitor stock, materials and operational requirements.

• Identify bottlenecks and implement practical solutions.

• Improve systems and processes as the business continues to scale.

Systems, Safety & Compliance

• Lead the implementation and adoption of the company's CRM and project management systems.

• Ensure project information is accurate, current and accessible across the business.

• Support WHS compliance across construction sites, factory and office operations.

• Coordinate outstanding safety actions, documentation and compliance requirements.

• Help develop systems that allow the business to grow without losing control.

About You

We're looking for someone who has construction experience and genuine operational capability.

You might currently be a:

• Construction Operations Manager

• Project Manager

• Construction Manager

• Estimator / Project Manager

• Site Manager ready to step into a broader role

What matters most is that you can manage projects, people, customers and competing priorities, and keep things moving.

You'll need:

• Proven experience in residential construction.

• Strong project management and organisational skills.

• Experience with estimating and construction costs.

• Excellent client and stakeholder management skills.

• Strong understanding of construction scheduling and project delivery.

• Commercial awareness and an understanding of project profitability.

• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills with a hands-on, proactive approach.

• The ability to work effectively in a fast-growing and changing business.

• Current Driver's Licence.
