Xpedite Plumbing & Gasfitting is growing, and we're looking for a motivated person with a landscaping, civil construction or drainage background to join our team.

We specialise in residential drainage solutions including stormwater, subsoil drainage, sewer replacements, excavation, waterproofing and subfloor ventilation. If you enjoy working outdoors, operating machinery and building quality drainage systems, we'd love to hear from you.

About the Role

You'll work alongside our licensed plumbers on a wide variety of drainage and excavation projects across Newcastle, Lake Macquarie and the Hunter Region.

No two days are the same. One day you might be installing stormwater systems, and the next you'll be operating machinery, concreting around pits or helping replace sewer lines.

What You'll Be Doing

• Installing stormwater and subsoil drainage systems.

• Assisting with sewer and stormwater excavations.

• Operating excavators or other machinery.

• Concrete cutting, demolition and reinstatement works.

• Installing pits, channel drains and PVC pipework.

• Reading levels, understanding falls and setting drainage correctly.

• Working safely around underground services.

• Maintaining a clean, professional worksite.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who already has experience in outdoor construction, particularly:

• Drainage installation.

• Landscaping.

• Civil construction.

• Excavation.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Experience operating excavators or other machinery (essential).

• Experience with concreting and demolition (desired).

• A good understanding of drainage falls and water movement (essential).

• The ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• A strong work ethic and attention to detail.

• A current driver's licence (MR licence advantageous).

• White Card (essential).

Bonus Skills

Experience with any of the following would be highly regarded:

• Stormwater drainage.

• Excavation.

• Pipe laying.

• Pipe laser or level use.

• Plumbing labouring.

• Drivers Licence (manual)
