Pastry Chef

Multi-award winning luxury hotel, the Park Hyatt Sydney seeks a professional Pastry Chef on a full-time basis. 

The main duties and responsibilities for this role will include the following: 

• To function as a production manager overseeing the production management of all pastry and bakery goods for the hotel's food and beverage operation, ensuring that the required mise-en-place and finished products are produced and delivered to the appropriate areas.

• Encourages the pastry team to be creative and innovative, challenging and recognising them for their contribution to the success of the operation

• Tastes and monitors the pastry and bakery products served throughout the operation, providing feedback where required.

• Works with the Materials Manager in the procurement of the best seasonal produce.

• Monitors food standards in each outlet and events and assists in the development of product specifications for all menus.

To be considered for this role the candidate should possess the following:

• Minimum two years work experience as Pastry Chef or 4 years as Assistant Pastry Chef in a hotel ; preferably with experience in luxury international brands

• Kitchen production qualifications specialising in Pastry

• Well developed kitchen management and menu planning skills

• Comprehensive knowledge of kitchen hygiene practices and work health and safety standards

• Good Computer Skills especially in MS Office, email and Recipe Maintenance System
