As part of our diverse team based in our Sydney office, you'll have the opportunity to use your legal expertise to make a meaningful impact every day. This is a great opportunity for a legal professional looking to take their career beyond traditional private practice and gain valuable in-house experience.

Working closely with the Team Manager and broader Legal Team, you'll manage complex litigation within the PIC, provide strategic legal advice to operational teams and support s151Z recovery matters. You'll work across a diverse portfolio while developing your understanding of the workers' compensation scheme.

This is a full-time, permanent position based in our Sydney office, with flexibility to work from home up to 3 days per week.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage and oversee statutory litigation, including legal referrals, evidence requests, hearings, instructions and reporting outcomes.
• Provide practical advice on legislative, regulatory, legal, policy and guideline requirements affecting workers' compensation claims.
• Manage and review legal advice, including s151Z recovery litigation and litigated workers' compensation claims.
• Oversee legal referrals and provide strategic advice on complex matters.
• Stay up to date with relevant case law and precedents affecting claims and the workers' compensation scheme.
• Provide technical advice on strategic claim management.

ABOUT YOU

• Experience in a legal role with exposure to litigation and/or personal injury matters.
• Strong understanding of workers' compensation legislation and associated regulations.
• Applicable tertiary legal qualifications.
• Admission as a solicitor and relevant legal practice experience highly regarded.
• Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• A practical, solutions-focused approach to complex legal matters.
