ICT Support Officer

We’re looking for an experienced ICT Support Officer to join a busy Business Systems Unit, providing frontline ICT support to staff across Australia and overseas.

This is a hands-on Helpdesk role where you’ll troubleshoot day-to-day technical issues, support users with hardware and software, manage ICT assets and contribute to broader ICT projects and operational activities.

What you’ll be doing

• Provide frontline ICT support across hardware, software, network, account and device issues
• Triage, resolve and escalate incidents and service requests within agreed service levels
• Administer user accounts, devices, software and ICT asset records
• Support ICT projects, system upgrades, testing, rollouts and implementation activities
• Create and maintain ICT procedures, user guides and knowledge articles
• Work with internal stakeholders, vendors and service providers to resolve issues
• Identify recurring issues and contribute to process and service improvements
• Support cyber security controls, patching, access management and incident reporting
• Assist with the maintenance and deployment of user and building ICT hardware

What we’re looking for You’ll bring demonstrated experience providing responsive ICT support, ideally within an Australian Public Service environment, with experience across Microsoft on-premises and cloud technologies.

You’ll also have the ability to:

• Troubleshoot technical issues and provide practical solutions
• Analyse problems, identify risks and make sound recommendations
• Communicate confidently with both technical and non-technical users
• Manage competing priorities and deliver within deadlines
• Support ICT projects and operational activities in a busy environment
• Work collaboratively and contribute positively to a team
• Follow ICT security, governance and service management requirements
• Provide professional, customer-focused support

Desirable experience

• Active Directory, including on-premises and Azure AD
• Understanding of ITIL principles

• Contract: 3 months
• Extension: Possible 3-month extension
• Location: Barton, ACT
• Working arrangement: 100% office based
• Hours: Up to 37.5 hours per week
• Level: APS5 equivalent
• Security: Current Baseline clearance is essential
