Underground Maintenance - Auto Electrician

Mako Mining is looking for motivated Auto Electrician to join our small dynamic team to maintain our fleet of underground plant and equipment, you will be required to have experience working on OEM mobile equipment (Caterpillar, Sandvik Atlas Copco, Volvo) 

We are looking for individuals who are self-motivated, determined, and able to prioritise tasks. They should have a positive attitude and follow safe work practices. The ideal candidate would be forward-thinking and dedicated to promoting a culture of high performance through teamwork and cooperation.

This role is site based, 14:14 roster.

Essential Criteria include

1. Must have full working rights in Australia.

2. National Police Clearance

3. Auto Electrician Trade Qualification (Australian recognised)

4. 2+ years’ post-trade experience working in an underground mining environment

5. Must have knowledge of maintenance and fault finding of heavy mobile equipment 

6. Current and Valid Manual Australian Drivers Licence

7. Excellent workmanship and fault-finding skills

8. Adhere to WHS policies and procedures

Preferred Criteria Includes

• Working knowledge of Sandvik drills, Atlas Copco drills, Cat Loaders and Trucks

• Current ARC air conditioning licence

• First Aid Certificate

• Safe Working at Heights

• Current & valid Dangerous Goods Security Card

• Dual Trade (HD Fitter/Auto-Electrician) advantageous

• Preferred candidates reside in Western Australia (but open to Eastern States Applicants)

Responsibilities

• Conduct scheduled and preventative maintenance

• Carry out repairs, fault finding and diagnostic 

• Provide technical support to the site maintenance team

• Willingness to train and mentor apprentices

The successful candidate will need to be physically fit and meet pre-employment criteria including drug and alcohol screening and full medical prior to an offer of employment being made
