About the role
Are you a psychologist who feels drawn to trauma work, whether you’re experienced or just starting to explore this rewarding field?
The Shellharbour Clinic invites you to take the next step in your professional journey with us.
Whether you're a skilled trauma practitioner or a passionate psychologist eager to grow in this space, we offer the opportunity to deepen your trauma expertise within a nurturing, team-oriented private practice.
This role includes access to a trauma-specific mentorship pathway designed to help you grow your confidence and competence in working with trauma, step by step, with the guidance of experienced clinicians.
Why Join Us?
The Shellharbour Clinic is a respected psychology practice in the Illawarra region, known for excellence in trauma-informed care. Since 2021, we’ve supported around 8,000 clients through their healing journeys, with heart, integrity, and clinical expertise at the core of what we do.
We’re a team that truly lives our values: Excellence, Growth, Enthusiasm, Support, Integrity, and Warmth. You’ll feel that in the way we work with clients and in the way we show up for each other.
What We Offer:
Trauma Mentorship Program
Work with a wide range of presentations, gradually building confidence in trauma interventions (or deepening your established expertise).
Learn alongside senior clinicians, including founder Natali, who brings over a decade of trauma-focused experience and a deep passion for EMDR.
Regular peer supervision, reflective practice, and tailored learning plans.
Access funding support for EMDR training (50% covered).
Clinical Support & Skill Development
Structured, trauma-specific supervision in a safe and encouraging environment.
Stay on top of your clinical growth with research-informed approaches and hands-on support.
Regular in-house professional development to deepen your clinical skills.
A Truly Supportive Culture
Your wellbeing matters. We offer designated mental health days to support rest, self-care, and sustainability in clinical work.
Flexible work arrangements, including the option to structure your week with a non-client day focused on non-client facing activities.
Manageable caseloads and a culture that actively supports taking leave.
A warm, welcoming clinic environment with great coffee, snacks, and regular opportunities for team connection.
Professional & Admin Support
Paperless systems and seamless tech allow you to focus on what matters: clinical care.
Our fantastic admin team ensures your sessions run smoothly, clients feel supported, and your time is respected.
Employment or Contracting Options
This role may be offered as either an employment position or a contractor arrangement, depending on experience, preferences, and mutual fit.
Full time and part time opportunities are available.
