Storeperson

Southern Steel QLD is Queensland’s leading steel supplier and steel processing company, operating across 5 locations in the state. 

We’re looking for somebody with the right attitude, who can handle a busy, fast paced environment with ease in this exciting opportunity as a Storeperson on located in our Cairns branch.

• Warehousing and distribution of steel products using overhead cranes/forklifts; 

• Picking & packing orders, unloading, loading and stacking materials; 

• Operating a band saw machine, when required; 

• General warehouse duties;

• Following the correct safety procedures at all times.

Someone who is a team player, reliable, and enjoys a fast-paced environment will be perfectly suited to this role. 

• Previous experience in a similar role or general knowledge of warehouse operations.

• MR Truck licence desirable

• Forklift licence, or ability to obtain

• Crane licence or experience driving overhead bridge gantry cranes (preferred but not essential)

• Be physically fit to carry out heavy duties in a high intensity work environment

• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail

• Ability to work autonomously and as part of team
