The company values continuous learning, practical experimentation, and the application of modern engineering practices, making it a supportive environment for emerging AI professionals.Role Description As an AI Engineer Intern at SecureT Solutions Pty Ltd, you will work hybrid(remote allowed for rught candidate) in Canberra, collaborating with engineering and research teams to design, implement, and test AI models and algorithms. Day-to-day tasks include developing and refining machine learning pipelines, experimenting with pattern recognition techniques, and exploring neural network architectures for real-world applications. You will assist in building software components that integrate AI models into production systems, document your work clearly, and participate in code reviews. The role also involves analyzing datasets, supporting natural language processing (NLP) experiments, and contributing to prototypes, proofs of concept, and internal demos. You will be encouraged to learn from mentors, share ideas in team discussions, and apply best practices in software development and model evaluation.Qualifications Strong foundation in Computer Science and Software Development, including data structures, algorithms, and coding in languages such as Python, Java, or C++.Understanding of core AI and Machine Learning concepts, including Pattern Recognition and Neural Networks, and familiarity with common ML frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn).Interest or experience in Natural Language Processing (NLP), with exposure to text processing, embeddings, or sequence models.Ability to work with data: collecting, cleaning, and analyzing datasets; basic knowledge of statistics and model evaluation techniques.Effective problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to collaborate in a multidisciplinary team environment.Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, or a related technical field.Familiarity with version control (e.g., Git) and development tools, and readiness to learn secure coding and deployment practices.Strong written and verbal communication skills to document work, explain technical concepts, and contribute to team discussions.
