About The Role
Anyinginyi Health Aboriginal Corporation is seeking a dedicated and culturally responsive Patient Travel Officer to join our Health Services team in Tennant Creek.
This rewarding role supports Aboriginal clients to access specialist healthcare services by coordinating travel, accommodation, and appointment arrangements while also maintaining accurate clinical records. You will play an important advocacy role, helping clients navigate healthcare systems and ensuring they receive the support they need to attend essential medical appointments.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate travel and accommodation arrangements for clients attending specialist appointments.Assist with Patient Assistance Travel Scheme (PATS) applications and administration.Communicate with clients and families regarding appointments and travel requirements.Provide support and advocacy to ensure clients understand and can access healthcare services.Maintain accurate clinical records in accordance with AGPAL guidelines.Manage medical record filing, archiving, security, and retrieval processes.Work collaboratively with healthcare professionals and support staff to deliver high-quality services.
What We're Looking For
Essential Requirements
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Respect for Aboriginal culture and the ability to communicate sensitively with Aboriginal people and communities.Experience working independently while remaining a strong team contributor.Sound administrative and computer skills, including Microsoft Office.Understanding of primary health care and the unique challenges faced by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.Knowledge of the Tennant Creek and Barkly Region.A current NT Driver's Licence (or ability to obtain one).The ability to obtain an NT Working with Children Clearance (Ochre Card).
Desirable
Experience working in Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations (ACCHOs).Knowledge of Communicare.Remote NT experience.

Administration, Support & Management (Admin): $75,291.13 - $78,460.14 per annum
