About The Role
Reporting into the Compliance and Capacity Planning Manager, Project lead Telecommunications - Essential Safety and Hazardous Materials will be responsible for the NSW/ACT region and will each have two Project Lead direct reports, delivery their respective regional areas.
The Team Lead will be accountable for maintaining Corrective & Preventative Maintenance delivery standards, ensuring works continue to meet Telstra approval requirements and that Target Finish Dates are achieved on more than 95% of orders.
They will play a critical role in driving quality, consistency, accountability, and operational excellence
This is a permanent full-time position based out of Melbourne, but open to applications from other states.
What You’ll Be Doing
Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, Environment, Quality (HSEQ), client, and regulatory requirements across all projects and programs.Manage AFSS compliance in NSW, engaging with councils and regulatory bodies to meet statutory obligations.Lead project delivery, ensuring works are completed safely, on time, within scope, and to client expectations.Monitor and report program performance against financial, operational, and completion targets.Coordinate subcontractor engagement, performance management, and capability development to support project demand.Provide technical expertise, asset management guidance, and support lifecycle replacement and end-of-life planning initiatives.Oversee project governance, including scheduling, DBOR management, quality assurance, and capital works submissions.Assess, manage, and communicate project and network risks, ensuring timely escalation and mitigation actions.Develop and coordinate incident response and restoration plans, providing stakeholder updates through to resolution.Support critical infrastructure delivery through work prioritisation, high-risk work reviews, safety exemption management, and compliance reporting.
About You
Degree-qualified in appropriate technical discipline Fire / Hazardous Substances / Asbestos (or extensive experience/on-the-job development).Strong background in Project Delivery, Facilities (Telco highly regarded) Project Management or equivalent certification desirable.Experience in successfully managing project teams. Work Order Management System Experience (Maximo highly regarded)Ability to plan, anticipate, decide, delegate and control.Strong leadership and communication skills accompanied with strong negotiation and influencing skills.Proven commercial management skills in relation to contract and financial project management.
