Company Accountant

IA Accounting is seeking an experienced and reliable Company Accountant to join our team in a full-time position.

This role is five days per week, Monday to Friday, from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. We are looking for an experienced accountant who can confidently manage a variety of accounting responsibilities while maintaining accurate records and meeting all relevant deadlines.

Key responsibilities:

• Preparing financial statements, management reports and budgets

• Managing accounts payable and accounts receivable

• Processing payroll and employee entitlements

• Completing bank and credit card reconciliations

• Preparing and lodging BAS, IAS and other compliance documents

• Assisting with individual, company, trust and partnership tax returns

• Maintaining accurate general ledgers and financial records

• Monitoring cash flow, budgeting, expenses and business performance

• Preparing financial reports and providing information to management

• Ensuring compliance with taxation, accounting and regulatory requirements

• Liaising professionally with clients, suppliers, the ATO and other external parties

• Managing client records and following up on outstanding information

• Using accounting software such as Xero, MYOB and Microsoft Excel

• Supporting the wider team with additional accounting and administrative duties when required

The successful applicant will have:

• Previous experience working as an accountant

• A relevant qualification in accounting, finance or a related field

• Strong knowledge of Australian accounting and taxation requirements

• Experience preparing BAS, financial statements and tax returns

• Confidence using Xero, Microsoft Excel and other accounting software

• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• The ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines

• The ability to work independently and as part of a team

• A professional, reliable and client-focused attitude
