We're looking for a freelance Product Designer to join our team for an initial six-week engagement, working alongside a cross-functional product team on a mobile-first digital product in the health and wellness space. This is an opportunity to help shape an innovative business and product from the ground up, working with a client that is redefining its category through health-tech, customer experience and product innovation.
You'll be designing the mobile experience that prioritises the user needs while setting the tone for the future-focused brand. Working within an agile sprint environment, you'll contribute across the full product design process, from discovery and defining user flows through to high-fidelity UI, prototyping, customer validation and developer handover.
A key part of the role will be defining the product's design system, ensuring components are scalable, consistent and built for future growth. We're looking for someone who enjoys thinking through user needs, rapidly testing ideas and crafting with confidence.
What You'll DoDesign intuitive mobile product experiences in Figma.Create user flows, prototypes and polished interface designs.Contribute to building a scalable component library and design system.Prototype interactions to validate concepts before development.Plan and participate in customer testing sessions, translating insights into product improvements.Work closely with Client, Design and Engineering throughout each sprint.Balance customer needs, business goals and technical constraints to inform design decisions.
About YouYou're a product designer who enjoys solving real customer problems and can confidently move between UX thinking and polished visual design.You bring curiosity, strong craft and a collaborative mindset, and you're comfortable working in fast-moving product teams where ideas are tested, refined and shipped quickly.
You'll likely have:5+ years' experience designing digital products.Experience designing health, wellness or consumer technology products.Strong proficiency in Figma, including experience designing and maintaining scalable component libraries and design systems.Confidence creating interactive prototypes for testing and stakeholder alignment.Experience planning or participating in customer research and usability testing.A solid understanding of user-centred design principles and accessibility.Experience working within sprint-based product teams.A portfolio demonstrating thoughtful product thinking alongside exceptional UI craft.
EngagementInitial six-week freelance contract.Approximately three days per week.Melbourne hybrid (in office/remote) preferredCommencing late August.
