Process Operator

VTG Waste & Recycling are one of the Northern Territory's leading recycling and resource recovery businesses, delivering innovative recycling and environmental solutions across the region. We are seeking a motivated and safety-focused Process Operator to join our NTRS team at our Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) in Darwin.

About the Role

As a Process Operator, you will play a key role in the day-to-day operations of our recycling facility. Working as part of a close-knit team, you will help maximise resource recovery outcomes while ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor recycling processing equipment and plant.

• Sort, inspect and recover recyclable materials from processing lines.

• Conduct routine inspections and basic maintenance of equipment.

• Identify and report equipment faults, hazards and safety concerns.

• Assist with housekeeping and maintaining a clean work environment.

• Follow established operating procedures and work instructions.

• Support loading and unloading activities as required.

• Participate in toolbox talks, training and safety programs.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

• A strong commitment to workplace health and safety.

• Previous experience in waste, recycling, manufacturing, processing or industrial operations (desirable).

• Ability to work in a physically demanding environment.

• Strong attention to detail and quality standards.

• A positive attitude and willingness to learn.

• Ability to follow procedures and work independently when required.

• Loader, forklift or other plant operating experience (advantageous).
