About the role
Build your career and Australia’s future.
Not many people can say they are working on building Australia’s future. With us you’ll be doing just that, leaving a legacy for all Australians. Plus, there’s equal employment, great training, and true flexible working arrangements.
A fantastic opportunity has presented itself for a Manager Critical Infrastructure. This role will report to the Executive Manager, Critical Infrastructure.
A bit about your role
As the Manager Critical Infrastructure, you will play a vital role in ensuring the reliable operation, maintenance and thoughtful expansion of nbn’s core infrastructure. You will bring a steady and considered approach to overseeing critical assets, balancing operational performance with long-term resilience, and helping to safeguard the technology that connects communities across Australia.
You will lead the design and continuous uplift of risk and resilience frameworks, acting as a trusted steward of critical infrastructure and providing governance oversight across network and technology sites. With a focus on care, collaboration and accountability, you will guide maintenance programs, oversee access, inspections and corrective actions, and ensure all activities are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with standards. Your ability to bring people together will be key as you partner closely with internal teams and external providers, contributing to sound decision-making, managing risks, and supporting business priorities including budget outcomes and infrastructure planning
A bit about you
You are a collaborative and grounded leader with a strong foundation in industrial electronics, telecommunications, or complex infrastructure environments. You bring hands-on experience managing and maintaining critical network infrastructure, with an understanding of control systems, maintenance practices, and electrical or operational design that allows you to navigate complexity with confidence and care. Experience with data centres, building management systems or programmable logic controllers will support your success, but your mindset and ability to bring others along are what truly set you apart.
You build relationships with authenticity and intention, working closely with field teams, engineers, IT specialists and delivery partners to achieve shared goals. Your communication style is open and thoughtful, and you take pride in creating an environment where everyone feels supported and aligned. With a natural curiosity and interest in the evolving world of critical infrastructure and data centres, you are motivated to keep learning and growing while contributing to outcomes that are safe, sustainable and meaningful for nbn and the communities it serves.
