Entry-level Telecommunications Field Role

We are looking for motivated and reliable people to join our Communication Construction team as an entry-level Communications field role. 

This is an opportunity to get into the Communication industry with on-the-job training and a pathway to becoming a skilled Field Technician.

About the role

You will work alongside experienced Comms technicians and learn how to safely and efficiently complete field works across a range of projects and locations. 

Your training will include:

• Cable hauling, preparation and installation practices 

• Use of cable hauling equipment and associated tools

• Optical Fibre and communications infrastructure

• Optical Fibre Splicing and Test Procedures

• Installation of communications hardware

• Commissioning and Integration of hardware and Comms Networks. 

• Working safely around external Networks and within customer and Data Facilities. 

• Following SWMS, site requirements and company procedures

• Site Prep and site management

• Completing job documentation and site records

• Working as part of a team to complete works safely and to a high standard

About you

We are looking for someone who:

• Is reliable, punctual and willing to learn

• Has a strong work ethic and takes pride in their work

• Is physically fit and comfortable working outdoors

• Can follow instructions and company procedures

• Has good communication skills

• Works well as part of a team

• Has a strong focus on safety

• Holds a current driver's licence

• Telecommunications experience is not essential,  training will be provided

Previous experience in construction, civil works, electrical, telecommunications, labouring or similar work would be advantageous, but we are happy to train the right person.
