METAL ROOFING TRADESMAN & TRADE ASSISTANT

About the role

CBT Roofing is seeking a skilled Metal Roofing Tradesman, Trade Assistants, Batten installers ( contractors) and Fascia and Gutter installers (wages or Subcontractors) to join our team on a full-time basis. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about the building trades to develop their expertise in metal roofing whilst working with a reputable company. Based in Beerwah on the Sunshine Coast, this role offers hands-on experience in all aspects of metal roofing installation, maintenance and repair. What you'll be doing

As a Metal Roofing Tradesman & Trade Assistant, your key responsibilities will include:

• Installing metal roofing systems on residential and commercial properties, ensuring high-quality workmanship and attention to detail

• Measuring, cutting and fitting metal roofing materials according to specifications and building codes

• Preparing roof surfaces and ensuring proper substrate preparation before installation

• Conducting roof inspections and identifying areas requiring repair or maintenance

• Performing roofing repairs and maintenance work to extend the lifespan of existing metal roofs

• Working safely at heights and adhering to all workplace health and safety regulations

• Using hand and power tools proficiently and maintaining equipment in good working order

• Collaborating with team members to complete projects on schedule and within budget

• Assisting senior tradespeople and learning best practices in metal roofing installation

• Maintaining a clean and tidy work site and disposing of waste responsibly

What we're looking for

• Trade qualification or relevant experience in metal roofing, carpentry or roofing trades (or willingness to obtain qualifications)

• Proven ability to work safely at heights and knowledge of fall protection requirements

• Strong understanding of roofing materials, installation techniques and building standards

• Proficiency with hand and power tools commonly used in roofing work

• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail

• Ability to read and interpret building plans and specifications

• Physical fitness and capability to perform manual labour in varying weather conditions

• Current driver's licence and reliable transport

• Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team

• Reliability, punctuality and a professional approach to work

• Current First Aid certification or willingness to obtain it (desirable)

• Experience with metal roofing systems, guttering or fascia work (preferred)
