Waverley Forklifts is an independently Australian-owned national business, continuing to expand our Queensland footprint with the opening of our new Townsville branch.

In operation for over 50 years, we have grown to become one of Australia’s largest fully independent forklift and transport companies, specialising in forklift rentals, equipment servicing, equipment sales and machinery transport.

Our Townsville branch will work closely with our established Brisbane operation. The Branch Supervisor will report to our Queensland State Manager based in Brisbane, with ongoing administration and operational support from the broader Waverley Forklifts team.

We are looking for a capable, customer-focused Branch Supervisor to help establish and grow our Townsville operation.

The Role

This is a varied role combining branch operations, customer relationships and business development.

Working alongside our branch mechanic, you’ll take responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the Townsville branch, ensuring customers are well supported, the local rental fleet is effectively managed and operational priorities are met.

Key responsibilities include:

• Overseeing day-to-day branch operations and coordinating local priorities

• Building strong customer relationships and acting as a key contact for hire, service and transport requirements

• Coordinating the branch mechanic’s workload to meet customer and fleet requirements

• Visiting existing and prospective customers and identifying opportunities to grow our rental and service business

• Preparing hire and service proposals in conjunction with the Queensland State Manager

• Overseeing the condition, maintenance and availability of the local rental fleet

• Monitoring fleet utilisation and repair and maintenance costs

• Coordinating equipment deliveries and collections with transport providers

• Maintaining accurate rental and operational information within Baseplan

• Ensuring WHS requirements and company procedures are maintained

• Providing practical and technical support where required

The Right Person for the Role

We’re looking for someone who enjoys taking ownership, building customer relationships and making things happen.

Ideally, you will bring:

• Experience in branch operations, service coordination, equipment hire, industrial services or a similar environment

• Strong customer service, relationship-building and communication skills

• Good technical knowledge and/or mechanical aptitude, with forklift or materials handling experience highly regarded

• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities

• A proactive, commercially minded approach to developing new business

• The confidence to make practical day-to-day decisions and work autonomously

• A collaborative approach and willingness to work closely with our wider Queensland team
