Technology Operations Team Lead

The Technology Operations Team Lead is responsible for managing NOW Finance's AWS technical infrastructure, support services, data operations, and application deployment processes. This role provides leadership to a team of technology professionals, fostering collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement.

You will manage key vendor relationships, including Managed Service Providers (MSPs) and AWS cloud infrastructure partners, while overseeing operational support and technology projects.

The role also oversees data infrastructure, including data warehouse integration and support, and application deployment across cloud environments. Strong AWS experience is essential, with a focus on secure, scalable and efficient cloud operations.

Working closely with business stakeholders, you will translate requirements into practical technical solutions, with a strong focus on automation, efficiency and ongoing optimisation.

Role Responsibilities:

• Lead, coach and prioritise the work of Cloud Engineers and IT Support Engineers, building a collaborative, accountable and high-performing team.

• Manage workplace technology and helpdesk services, including Intune deployments, endpoint devices, meeting room systems, onboarding/offboarding, office IT infrastructure and end-user support standards.

• Oversee secure AWS cloud infrastructure, including monitoring, cost management, capacity planning, performance optimisation, and architectural recommendations.

• Manage MSP and technology vendor relationships, driving service quality, commercial discipline, SLA performance, and risk mitigation.

• Partner with Information Security to maintain effective controls across endpoints, workplace technology, access management, system configuration, patching and cloud infrastructure.

• Collaborate with Software Engineering, Project & Systems, AI teams, business analysts, and stakeholders to deliver infrastructure, deployment, and technical solutions that support business needs.

• Manage and evolve AWS CI/CD pipelines to support reliable, efficient and secure application deployments into cloud environments.

• Proactively identify operational risks and recurring issues, implementing preventative measures across support, infrastructure and workplace technology.

• Maintain Technology Operations documentation, standards, procedures, and best practices to support consistent and repeatable delivery.

• Drive continuous improvement and automation across deployments, ticketing workflows, infrastructure provisioning, helpdesk services, workplace technology and AWS operations.
  

Attributes, Experience & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a computer-related field.

• Experience leading technology operations, infrastructure, cloud, or support functions in business-critical environments, with a proven ability to build trust, accountability, and team capability.

• Technically credible across AWS, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, databases, identity, endpoints, automation.

• Sound operational judgement across cloud support, workplace technology and data platforms.

• Structured, proactive, and comfortable operation independently in a fast-paced environment.

• Ability to balance security, reliability, cost, risk and business impact.

• Clear communicator who can explain issues, trade-offs, and recommendations to varied stakeholders.

• Experience supporting security, risk, audit, compliance, incident response, or business continuity activities.

• Experience supporting database or data warehouse operations.

• Linux experience is desirable.
