Heavy Vehicle Mechanic

Rushway Transport is a locally owned transport company running a fleet of modern Kenworth, Mack and Volvo trucks, and associated trailers. Due to fleet expansion and increased workload, we are seeking a fulltime heavy vehicle mechanic with outstanding aptitude for the job, solid work ethic and a desire for long term employment at our Rocklea depot.

The role will require you to repair and service a variety of heavy trucks and trailers and will include:

• Carrying out scheduled maintenance and breakdown repairs

• Fault finding, diagnosing and repairing problems as required

• Maintain, test and repair diesel engines, transmissions, brake systems and hydraulic systems

• Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, transmissions and engines

To be successful in the role, you will possess the following:

• Trade qualification as a Heavy Vehicle/Diesel Mechanic

• Ability and willingness to train apprentices 

• Diagnostic experience

• Ability to work to schedules with strong time management skills

• A valid driver’s license – HR/MC license is highly desirable but not essential
