About the Opportunity:  

We're looking for an experienced and commercially focused Senior Collections Officer to join our Credit Risk & Recovery Operations team. You'll manage a diverse portfolio of complex arrears and recovery accounts, working closely with customers, legal representatives, external administrators, Collections Partners and internal teams to achieve the best possible outcomes.

Your day will include analysing portfolio risks, developing recovery strategies, negotiating resolutions and driving positive recovery outcomes. You'll play a key role in minimising financial losses, providing valuable portfolio insights and ensuring customers are supported through fair and respectful engagement.

Your key contributions include:

• Managing a complex arrears and recovery portfolio to improve portfolio performance, minimise financial loss and achieve positive customer outcomes.
• Negotiating with customers, legal representatives and recovery partners to resolve arrears and maximise recoveries.
• Identifying, assessing and escalating portfolio risks, emerging trends and high-risk accounts to support effective risk management.
• Providing timely portfolio insights and recommendations to support informed business decisions.
• Strengthening customer relationships and protecting the SilverChef brand through respectful and customer-centric engagement.
• Meeting individual and team KPIs while supporting continuous improvement initiatives and departmental objectives.
• Supporting departmental projects and other responsibilities as required, consistent with the scope and seniority of the role.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

• 5+ years of proven experience in collections, recoveries or credit, preferably within financial services.
• Strong negotiation, influencing and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to achieve commercially sound outcomes.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, supported by sound judgement and attention to detail.
• Understanding of collections legislation, the National Debt Collection Guidelines and industry best practice. Eperience working with insolvency, external administrations or legal recovery processes will be highly regarded.
• Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to balance customer outcomes, risk management and business objectives.
