SS/VMO – GP Emergency Medicine
Based at Leeton, Deniliquin and Young Hospitals, as a GP VMO, you will provide high-quality, patient-centered care in a range of general practice services, ensuring that care is safe, effective, and evidence-based. You will play a pivotal role in delivering comprehensive medical services to the local community.
Key Responsibilities Include
Providing admitting, consultative, diagnostic, procedural, outpatient, telehealth, and on-call services as required by MLHD.
Being available during rostered hours and on-call, including clinical handovers, supervision, teaching, and emergency and routine care.
Offering education and support to clinicians across multiple disciplines, promoting quality education and safe clinical practice.

SS/VMO – Physician (General Medicine)
Based at Leeton Hospital.
Provide specialist inpatient care, ward rounds, outpatient support, and ED collaboration.
Manage acute and chronic presentations, oncology/infusion clinic, and Hospital in the Home.
Work closely with GP VMOs to ensure seamless transfers and safe patient care.

Visiting Medical Officer (VMO)
Earn up to $247.30/hour (GP rate + practice rate), equating to $474,816 + super for eligible contracts (based on 40 hrs/week for 48 weeks).
Earn up to $275.85/hour (Specialist rate + practice rate), equating to $529,632 + super for eligible contracts (based on 40 hrs/week for 48 weeks).
Or progress to Senior Specialist VMO rates, earning up to $293.75/hour, which equates to $564,000 + super (based on 40 hrs/week for 48 weeks).
Staff Specialist
Enjoy all the entitlements of permanent employment, including superannuation, leave, relocation support, and more.
Competitive base salary of up to $299,825 + super, with additional allowances and benefits.

Selection Criteria
Holds an MBBS or equivalent, with current registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a Specialist in General Practice, Emergency Medicine or Rural & Remote Medicine, or General Registration with a minimum of seven years' experience as a senior medical officer in a regional or rural NSW emergency medicine department, and compliance with Continuing Professional Development (CPD) requirements as a GP. Demonstrated knowledge of contemporary clinical management and modern approaches to the assessment and management of a broad range of acute and chronic medical conditions, with competence in performing urgent minor procedures commonly undertaken in rural emergency departments, including Advanced Life Support and Trauma management. Proven ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team, with the capability to provide leadership and guidance to team members. Demonstrated commitment to teaching, continuing education, research, and quality improvement initiatives. Availability and willingness to participate in an on-call roster and to respond on-site within a reasonable timeframe. Demonstrated commitment to behaviours consistent with the NSW Health CORE Values and the MLHD values, goals, and strategies.
